Mesora Technology's first project is the creation of a civic network called Kahal (kahal.io) which aims to revive the system of distributed governance known as "the Kehilla" which kept Judaism alive and Jewry together in the aftermath of the destruction of the Second Temple. Jewish communities in the diaspora were hierarchically organized under the leadership of the exilarch. In 16th century Eastern-Lithuania the Kehilla remained a unifying organizational structure for Jewry for hundreds of years. Over the last few centuries, Jewry has devolved into separate camps relatively siloed from each-other. Kahal.io aims to be a form of connective tissue which facilitates consensus and interaction between otherwise separate nodes of Jewry.
